The Terrace, Royal Hospital, Haslar
Designed by Admiralty architect Samuel Bunce, Haslar Terrace was built in 1798 to provide accommodation for the Royal Naval Hospital’s senior officers.
Following previous conversions and having latterly been unoccupied for 5 years, the apartment required modernisation in line with its Grade II listed status to provide a comfortable dwelling for its first private owners.
Working closely with client and Conservation Officer, Design Team Studios opened up the interior to create a flexible space whilst remaining true to the heritage of the building.
Influenced by their original design, the new rooms feature restored coving, windows and fireplaces, whilst folding doors matching those previously lost have been reintroduced between kitchen and living room.
A new utility room, en-suite shower room and study complete the transformation of this beautiful period apartment.
